Outing number 6 was Captains Day and took us to the beautiful surroundings of The Boat of Garten Golf Club.

We welcomed 2 new members on the trip to The Boat, Ian Rattray & Alan Kemp who we hope to see at many future outings to come.

15 P.R.A.G.S. members took to the tee for an 11am tee-time and captain Andy Whitham drove the first shot of the day after the official team photo.

As it was Captains Day we had an extra competition, Fewest Putts on the round, along with our usual Nearest the Pin & Longest Drive. It was Roger Senior who looked to have 'bagged the Nearest the Pin trophy on the par 3 - 3rd hole , that was until captain Andy was found racing back to retrieve the Nearest the Pin marker as he'd forgotten the nearest the Pin comp was on the par 3 - 9th and not the 3rd !, sorry Roger *coughs* Actually Roger didn't have a good day at all , one of 'those days' for the August champion.

The wind was certainly out in force on the front 9, want sure if that was due to climactic conditions or just too many bacon rolls & cups of coffee before the off, but it certainly played its part in the scoring. The course was in superb condition and certainly lived up to it's'pre-outing' billing as one of Scotlands 'Gems'

Mungo Goes Wild

On the day we played the usual format of 18 holes, stableford format, this time all playing of full handicap.

Hearty congratulations to MUNGO MUNRO who took the coveted P.R.A.G.S. Trophy home for the first time with a very creditable stableford score of 34 points , ahead of Ron Webb who took second place with 30 points, just pipping Bert Mackay for second place on a countback.

Prizes for Nearest The Pin on the 9th went to MUNGO MUNRO

Longest Drive on the 17th went to BERT MACKAY , who hit a belter on the 17th, a few inches further than David Braine
