P.R.A.G.S. Outing @ Burntisland Golf Club on Friday 31st July 2009

Well, P.R.A.G.S. outing number 4 for 2009 took us to the very picturesque Fife course at Burntisland. The weather behaved itself, and the course was very well looked after and presented well. The greens deserve a special mention too, they were super-quick and very honest.

13 members made it to Burntisland. We had 4 groups tee off from 11am, 3 x 3 balls and a 4 ball.

A full handicap stableford competiton was in effect and there was some excellent golf played on the day

"Ron retains the PRAGS Trophy ! "

For the very first time, a P.R.A.G.S. member retained the Trophy . Many congratulations to RON DUNCAN for winning the P.R.A.G.S. Trophy with a magnificent 40 points, well done Ron ! , who also cemented his No.1 leaderboard position for the end of season Champions trophy. Runner-Up was ROGER SENIOR with a very creditable 35 points.

Nearest the pin went to RON DUNCAN , who hit a superb tee shot at the 5th hole to finish less than 3 feet from the hole. He won a sleeve of balls, and completing an excellent day for Mr.Duncan.

Longest drive at the 12th hole went to big hitting Andy Walker who boooomed his drive miles and deservedly won a sleeve of balls for his efforts.

A most enjoyable end to the day was a wonderful high tea, which was accompanied by copious amounts of tea and coffee.

Also, a mention for Jim Fergus. On his first P.R.A.G.S. outing he decided not to win the 1st prize with his golf, but instead decided to win no less than £100 on the fruit machine in the clubhouse! A fact that didn't go un-noticed by Andy Whitham, who was the previous gent to play on that fruit machine and who piled in at least £5 into the fruit machine without winning a penny. Andy sends Jim a hearty handshake *coughs*

Thanks to Antony Pleasance , Ron Duncan, Roger Senior, Andy Walker & Ron Harriman for bringing their cameras on the day, and below are just some of the great photographs that were taken.
