          Pitlochry Golf Club

            ( Home Club )

I play my home course a minimum 200 times each year. Pitlochry offers a challenge in many ways. Keep straight and stay out of the rough.

A beautiful course with fantastic scenery.

Aberfeldy Golf ClubA fine course, set in a lovely location. Quite a lot of long holes, and open fairways here. Water too could be a problem for the less-than-straight hitters.
          Alloa Golf Club

My over-riding memory of Alloa was the breathtaking views of the mountains and the excellent condition of the course. Ive played here twice.

Well worth a visit.

Alyth Golf ClubIve played at Alyth only once, unfortunately it was a windy, rainy day. I didnt see the course at its best but I do remember some fantastic holes, especially the par 3's. I will definately go back again.
Auchterarder Golf ClubAn old course, well over 100 years old, and you can tell by the mature course that it holds it's reputation of being one of Scotland's finest inland courses. I had a great day here, played well too, for a change.
Balbirnie Golf ClubJust outside Glenrothes, Balbirnie Golf Club greets you with a magnificent mansion , and a course to grace anywhere in the world .Beautiful scenery, and a wonderfully kept course. Definately worth a visit.
Blair Atholl Golf ClubAnother local club and one which I've played many times. Blair Atholl has a long 9 hole course which offers a challenge any time of year. Small friendly club and the course and each hole is difficult, especially the x 2 par 3's.

       Blairgowrie, Rosemount

       Blairgowrie ,Lansdowne

The Rosemount is a championship standard course, and plays great and looks beautiful. The Lansdowne is slightly longer but is just as much a challenge. Manicured greens and lush fairways. Fantastic !

Burntisland Golf ClubA stunningly impressive course, nestled ideally along the clifftops overlooking Edinburgh's estuary. The course is lovely , Ive played here twice and would recommend it to anyone.
Carnoustie Championship                  Course Ive played Carnoustie 3 times now, and apart from the wind, it's a superb links challenge. I say apart from the wind, as each time Ive played there Ive been virtually blown off the course! But, fantastic, lives up to all expectations.
Crieff Golf ClubA long and very challenging course. I've played Crieff twice, and each time I thoroughly enjoyed the course.Very well maintained , and excellent greens.
Culcrieff Golf ClubThe Culcrieff golf course is part of the Crieff Hydro Hotel complex and is a good course to play and has some unusual holes. The day I was there was wet and windy, but I would like to play on a nice day, and I will.
Dollar Golf ClubWhat a lovely little course Dollar is. From its two par 3 starting holes, to the hilly layout, Dollar is certainly worth a visit anytime.Great value for money too.
Downfield Golf ClubA good course, well maintained and I enjoyed my day here. Didn't play too well here, but that's nothing to do with the course. Some good par 4's here, difficult to guage for length.

       Dunkeld & Birnham

             Golf Club

I played here in a team match, we lost our game, but I remember the course as being good. It rained all the game, so I'll look forward to playing here again, in the dry.
Falkirk Golf ClubI Played in Falkirk Golf Club's Open in 2008, didnt trouble the leaderboard much , didnt play well on the day, but the course was fine and in good condition.
Falkirk Tryst Golf ClubA lovely course. I remember it being reasonably flat, and on the day we were there, it was dry, and the ball ran forever. There are some tough holes though. Worth a visit.
Glenisla Golf ClubI loved playing here. Not that I played well, but the course, on the day we were there was in superb condition. This is one of the courses I would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone.
Grantown-on-Spey Golf ClubI've played Grantown twice, both Texas 4-man scrambles, but the course is good , and there are some fantastic holes, both short and long. You have to be reasonably straight off the tee.
Kilsyth Lennox Golf ClubMy over-riding memory of Kilsyth was the deep rough. One has to be straight and the course is honest, not many hidden agenda's.
Kirriemuir Golf ClubThe first , and 18th holes are memorable for me. I have played the course twice and its a wonderful short'ish course. Excellent conditon both times I played.
King James VI Golf ClubI like the course, Im not keen on the 15min walk across the river to get to the course.I've played the course on numerous occasions. It does suffer from flooding quite a lot due to it being an island.
The Montgomery & The Bruce Courses
Played both courses over two consequtive Thursdays in March '09. Great courses too, a real challenge. I like the Montgomery course the better as it was more of a challenge..and it beat me.
     Lynedoch & Murrayshall

2 seperate superb quality golf courses.Ive played Lynedoch twice , but Murrayshall only on it's winter course. I would recommend both courses anytime, real quality in everything here.

Montrose Golf ClubMontrose is a good links challenge, and , like all links courses the bounce could go either way. It's also a long course, so pray it's not windy.
Scotscraig Golf ClubOne of the best courses I've ever played. Also one of the oldest too. The course is steeped in history, and playing the course was a tough challenge , but a healthy one too. The course won on the day I played. A1 recommended.

       St.Andrews Bay

       Torrance Golf Club

Beautiful course, with superb views across toward St.Andrews. Only played the course once, lovely condition, but as the course is build on a clifftop, the wind plays a strong part.
St.Micheals Golf Club, Fife
This is a course in Fife, near the airforce base at RAF Leuchars, in Fife and if you can get used to the screaming jets every few minutes then your fine. The course is basically in 2 halves, the old half which is good and the new 9 holes which is still a little barren in places.
Strathendric Golf ClubPlayed this tricky little course on a club ' day out '. Its not a long course , and only 9 holes but what a good challenge.
Strathmore Golf ClubA very nice course near Alyth. Played it once, had a good game too, and would welcome the chance to play it again.
Strathtay Golf ClubA small 9 hole course. Ive played the course many times, and although there are a couple of strange holes, the course is ok. Take an oxygen mask with you when you get to the 5th.
West Lothian Golf ClubI love this course. Played it twice in a week. It's got everything I enjoy on a course. Not too long , not too straight , fantastic views and well manicured greens. Lovely.
